Bonfire Sparkflare Released!
April 27th, 2009
FuriousToast is happy to announce the release of Sparkflare, a new service to pipe tweets and web feeds into your 37signals Campfire room.
We built Sparkflare because, while we use many tools every day, we live in Campfire.
- We write and commit code to GitHub.
- We check Twitter (Who's writing about us and our products? What are they saying? What about our competitors?).
- We monitor GetSatisfaction.
- We log product issues.
- We blog.
- We tweet.
Our team lives in Campfire and we want all of this information to come to us. We wrote Sparkflare to make this happen — for us, and for you.
We use it, we love it, and (if your team uses Campfire) we think you will too. Go sign up now!
Update, April 29th
After some friendly discussions with 37signals, we've decided to change the name of the product from “Bonfire” to “Sparkflare,” effective immediately. This decision was made to ensure 37signals' long-term trademark enforceability for Campfire, and is in line with their policies.
We couldn't be more appreciative of the assistance 37signals has provided in making the initial beta launch of Sparkflare a success, and look forward to continuing to work with them in the future. We're happy to comply with their request, and are looking forward to continuing to build a clear, separate brand for our complementary application. This is a merely a minor cosmetic change, and was simply about being a good neighbor.
